Spoilers… i mean im not sure any of you have ever seen this film, or heard of it.
Friday night Tom Hiddleston watch-a-longs with the girls are going well. Tonight is instalment is Unrelated a 2007 indi budget film from 2007 when Tom was starting out. I should point out when we watch these films, we do mainly watch for Tom, but i do still try & review these subjectively.
So lets get out of the way that Tom leaps in the swimming pool, after some very seductive dancing, completely naked… ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh we all were jsut like did he just did he… yes he did. We then did pause for film for a few mins for us to all just calm down.
I mean considering this was an indi budget film in the mid 00s its average. I mean ive seen better, i really have, but there was nothing to much here. I mean considering the budget they did okay.
Everyone on holiday has stolen a shopping troll & raced around in it right? Well my friends & i have. ITs well worth a try in your youth people do it.
The lead was not very good if im honest. She had a lot of talking on the phone to people & not timing it properly & then at the start of act 3 when she has her real big acting scene after being kicked out of the teenage group & the adult group, shes meant to be really emotional & give a performance where you go ahhhh that why shes like that, but no she doesnt. She sits there & weeps badly & her friend in that scene doesnt help either. I am really meant to feel for this woman who thinks shes starting the menopause & cant have kids & has had a fight with her boyfriend, but i just didnt. As a woman i really should have but it was not acted well at all.
When the crashed the car i was like oh god really & then that lead to Toms domestic abuse angle from his father. That was not nice to listen to & see the fall out from. But even that bad as Toms character is called Oakley & when shes apologising she calls him Tom. Oh god. Edit it out people, before she says the name.
All teenagers have a lake or piece of water they can run away to in film, & this film was no different at all. yet again, another romantic idea made up by movie people.
For a long film, not a lot happened if im honest. I didnt feel like i really connected to any character at all. It all just felt a bit bitsy & like ahhh is this gonna happen is that. & when they added drama for drama sake it wasnt to dramatic, until we got to the domestic abuse & then it went over kill for 2min & then did nothing again.
Lots of wine & drinking & eating in this film. & funny games, however they are all fun when your drunk & playing them with your friends, not watching some sober actors do it trying to be drunk, apart from that guy they all bullied. They even put him in the boot of the car at the end as not everyone could fit in it.
Some of the scenery shoots were nice, but they were all quite repetitive & like okay ive seen this road or this part of the town before, can we go else where or film it from a different way please, but no we didnt.
Well at least i can now say that i have watch this & it was okay. Oh what you watch due to the people you crush on. Tom is better in Wallander, which is what we watched afterwards.
