This is actually really hard to find on tv or dvd, im not sure why, i remember bits of it as a kid but not much. I mean i know the story & how it end, but not every single detail, so i am really looking forward to seeing this as an adult & why its the case that this is lesser known. I mean how bad can it be…

Okay this is dark, like this is so dark, how was this even greenlighted by disney to be made. Everything about it is horrific & evil apart from the final moral about seeing good in people whoever they are & not to judge a face by its cover. But yea other wise oh god oh god.

So if this was ever made into an actual live action film & they have to cast Frollo, please please please can it be Ben?!?!?! I bloody love Ben & his voice & that stare would just be the most evil thing in the world in that outfit, just imagine it people…. yeah your all on board with it arent you. I see Oscars & awards galore if he did. Frollo is petrifying & scary & is the kind of person who gives you nightmares. Some of what he says is wrong so wrong & what he does is even worse but i think thats what makes him pure evil. He deserves his falling firey death. By the way i am not saying that Ben is a bad person, i am just say the Mr Ben best bad guy Mendelsohn would do the character so much justice & would make his so evil it would be hard not to applaud. I mean they are never going to make this film but you know.

I laughed a lot when Pheobus told his horse Achilles to Heal… for a good like 5minutes so much so that i paused it to see what i missed & had to wipe the tears away. It was that funny but to a kid that goes completely over your head doesn it. Bloody brilliant.

This films about genocide, he kills the first family & end up with the baby, then he wants the gypsy’s (thats what they call them in the film so thats what im going with) gone, then he wants Esmerelda, then he threatens people for gypsy information & then burns paris to the ground, then captures them & then has a riot. I mean fucking hell all that for one girl. Theres a line where he says there will be a little bonfire in Paris tonight…. erm mate all of Paris is on fire, which one am i meant to be at. The song about her too is wrong (altho that large a room to just have a fire place in is kind of cool), & the fact that even when hes burning her alive hes still like well if i can fuck you i will let you live, its just wrong its so wrong. Im not even going to talk about he neck, it made me feel physically ill when he said that.

the Gypsy’s arent good at communication either, i mean they almost murder Quasi & Pheobus before they get to say their part. I mean their hide out is very dead & i understand why they were nervous about random people finding them, but come on at least let them speak dont just kill them. I mean it does lead to their capture so maybe they have a point.

The festival of fools is so good & so funny & so clever until its not. I know hes got to get abused to have the character arch however what they do to him is just horrific. I mean im sure there were some kids years ago who saw that scene & aspired to be like that when they are older & kept it up (ahem brexit happened) but you know how about more punishment for those who were mean to him rather than punish him & the girl that saved him.

He made that carving of Esmerelda bloody quickly didnt he & put it on the town, i get that its his hobby but still. Also his town has the gallows on it… foreshadowing. & that table is big enough for him to hide Phoebus underneath too wow. Im guessing Frollo just took his mens word when they said he was dead.

yea Phoebus, goes from noble captain, to saving a few familys to being out cast to attempted murder in all of 30second in this film. Its madness. I know its a kids film & i shouldnt read to much into it, but you know its taken him week & all of Paris to burn for him to get close to finding Esmerelda, but in one move hes willing to kill his best guard. Twat.

The gargoyles are funny, their song is the best song in the film about being friends & going to get the girl. I also love how they are all named after Victor Hugo & people in his life thats brilliant.

when he gets Esmerelda out of the cathedral the first time, thats all good, but how does he properly get back up. Didnt think that through. & then when shes burning & he swings to save her, how long is that rope. George of the Jungle wanted a longer rope than that to save Ursula & didnt get it. It defies physics & then to get back with her to madness.

Can i really just walk into a church & claim sanctuary, is that still a thing? I mean as an agnostic im not sure theyd like that but if someone could let me know that would be fab.

I know Paris was on fire, however would it really have turned to molten lava that quickly?

I love that he doesnt get the girl. He was happy in the end that she was happy & that was all that mattered, that was very good disney to show that its not always the hero that gets her. but he does get his happy ending when he can go into the world & people accept him for who he is & what he looks like. Thats bloody emotional, after going through all of that.

Some of the drawing of paris & the sky & the lighting in this are bloody marvellous, you look at it & think yea i want to go to paris & have a view like that, its bloody magical & disney fucking nail it.

So how bad could that film be… well its not its actually a really really good film & i really enjoyed it. But i think it scared me as a child & maybe thats why im hesitant to horror due to this. Its an uncomfortable watch, but you appreciate the darkness. This isnt for kids, so why were we all allowed to go & watch it?
