This might be a very short review, as its a very short film & its only just come out so i will try to not spoil it for you all.
Robin Robin is the new Ardman stop motion Animation on Netflix, as a british millennial, Ardman are a right of passage, so im ready to watch something wonderful & feel properly festive.
& i did… when it ended i was beaming & felt so happy & so full of Christmas cheer (should have saved this for later in December really) but it just hit every single nerve.
A Robin who thinks shes a mouse, is such a sweet idea, it really is. Its adorable & you just sit there willing Robin to do everything right & she doesnt & then she does & its the perfect example of be who you are dont be afraid that your different. Its brilliant message for kids.
The second that Magpie turned around i knew it was going to be Richard E Grant. I mean i knew he was in it but it was that look of say what & he was brilliant. Bloody funny & all his shiny things & bottle caps & stuff, just brilliant. I love his tree too. The thorns will keep the cat away.
Jillian Anderson as the Cat, was scary but fabulous as well.
I love the star on the top of your christmas tree gives you a wish for whatever you want & there wishes as so sweet & perfect & then the trouble they go to is brilliant. Its just so sweet.
all those little mice were so sweet too, i mean their love for saving Robin in the first place was amazing.
I love when they go & sneak she adjusts her ears to be more mouse & by the end of the film Magpie does it too.
I want to smuggle out a sandwich, dont we all dear, dont we all. All the human houses were spot on with what youd expect to see on a christmas eve (minus the duck but that is just us i think). But from the cheese left out the wine, the knitting a random pile of blankets, yea its sums us brits up quite will.
That little brook with the icy water looking at it did actually make me feel cold a bit, which is good animating.
Oh it was just adorable & made with such love & craft & i just sat there at the end feeling all cosy & happy & felt like i did when i was a little kid & a close shave was the highlight of the tv at christmas. Yea thats a good way to start off with home christmas viewing this year.
It was just lush give it a go peoples.
