Im going to try really hard not to spoil this for you but if i type & realise i really have you will see the word Spoilers above this sentance.
Having Disney Plus for the next 6 months so i can watch the MCU tv shows is good but does also mean i can catch up on some films i have missed in the mean time so that will be very good indeed. One that keeps popping up on Letterboxd that people have been watching is Luca, the new Pixar offering so yea lets see what this does & how it goes. Im expecting good things dont let me down.
I was doing so well to not cry in this film i really really was, & then the last 3minutes of the film happened & i feel apart. Oh god it hurt & i cried ugly tears. It just ruined me, all the nice gestures, families & friends, freedom & just being accepted. It was everything i wanted to see & hear right there & then & it was the perfect moment for the film to end. It had its pixar disney magic & it hit you with it for that moment & you are ruined.
Is this a big advert for Vespa? I lost count how many times they said the word Vespa in this film, but it was well over 15 right. I mean yeah its good to have a goal in life but its said soooo many times its madness. I hope the screen writter got a Vespa.
Alberto’s at least Bi right? Hes being the jealous boyfriend throughout the film & is heart broken & loves Luca doesnt he. Its lovely to see that in a Kids animated film. There will be some Kids who watch that & recognise there relationship & it will help them to be able to come out to their parents (not that anyone should have to come out it should just be like oh you fancy them, okay). I really do feel for him at points through tout the film & there are some bits that are so heart breaking that you cant help but love him more then Luca.
Gino Di Campo is the priest in the UK voice version thats bloody epic. Wheres Pepper Pig when you need her? (some of you will get that). & Sasha Barron Cohen is the uncle fish hehehe.
I know disney always have over elaborate ways to show something or challenge someone but that race they all enter is madness. No way can you all do that if you are a kid, bollocks.
The idea that when they dry they become human & then if it rains or theres water around they turn back to the sea people is cool & the way its animated is amazing.
The guy with one arm, i mean thats representation disney good quota matching. But at least its something he had always had & had never know any different & it wasnt like a sea creature that stole it.
Farming the fish hehe.
The whole bullying bit is a brilliant piece of morals for kids who watch this film.
Its basically the little mermaid 30 years later, but less singing no voice & no evil sea witch. ITs well worth a watch people & i think ive reviewed it well without spoiling it for you. Go grab your pasta & enjoy, & tissues for your emotional breakdown at the end.
I mean the little mermaid is still the best disney film ever made so it cant be matched.
