Spoilers

Saturday film night before i move out & the parents are still going through what they want to see on netflix with me before i take it away with them (havent told them im leaving my access to them so they can watch stuff still as a thankyou for letting me come up to watch football & F1) so we are Hemsworth-ing it tonight & feeling a bit of action. Bring on the huge explosions & chases.

So now ive seen it & done some research on it & realised that they wanted to make lots of films & this is like story 3, i really want to see what should have come before this & the back story to certain people on the team & why they do what they do. That seems epic & i hope we revisit it again.

The huge selling point of this film is the action packed one take scene which lasts about 30 minutes. We have all seen 1917’s where in theory its the whole scene as one long take. I mean its bloody clever editing in this one to do it with so much stuff & so many people who are all trying to blow the shit out of stuff. Its brilliant & you do sit there at the end & breath quite heavily as you just feel so knackered like the people in the scene. Its so cleverly done that by the time it stop & it cuts away you go ooooh a cut to it. Its good & it proves it can be done on such a huge scale with so much stuff going on. Its very clever. I just dont want this to now become a gimmick & people do it because they can. IT needs to be used correctly.

Hemsworth is good, hes always good tho lets be honest. I mean were not talking Ruffalo or Hanks Level of good but still hes always good especially in this kind of role. You just know hes going to nail it & that its going to be fine.

The mate who double crosses him is a bit like seriously mate, this was all going so well then he turns out dogdy. Booooo. I mean the double crossing mate was a more convincing villain that the drug lord who stole the kid.

I mean his little gang of teenagers were a bit freaky & weird but good because he knew he didnt want to have to kill the other kids. But throwing them off the building & making one cut off their finger for loyalty was a bit much. & then he meets his death like months later & not by Hemsworth. All of that time to say the kid & he didnt even get to take him out.

Whos looking after his farm while all this is going on, those chickens need feeding.

The bridge bit was properly grim but clever & well filmed but after the middle bit of the film being that one take it is a little of an anti climax that you then just get a shoot out. I mean the sniper was cool, in all respects.

The ending its Hemsworth looking over the kid right isnt it. It cant be anyone else. Which begs the question how did he survive… i mean i know Bourne did but Bourne is Bourne. You know

I enjoyed it, it was a good action film but it peaks at that one take action set up. After that it then just tries to tie up its lose ends before the final show down. Basically it should have been a middle film of the set & should of been a more continuous story. I hope they keep making them & go back to look at other stories so we can care more about them.
