If this is posted before True Lies apologies. But its for movie quiz night so…

Spoilers

So this month for movie quiz we were struggling to all meet up to watch our home work & we were also struggling to actually get a hold of the film, it wasnt on sky cinema or now tv or on Netflix or in HMV. So we ended up with a dodgy link to it on YouTube not the best copy in the world, but it will do for what we actually need to know. So with less than 60 hours before the quiz we all pilled into Kirstys room & started watching it.

Brief synopsis, teenager gets stood up by boyfriend on their anniversary, so decides to go baby sit these random kids. Problem is her bestie has ran away from home & has no money so she decided to take the kids in her car to go get her friend home. While trying to do this they lose a tire, end up being car-napped, end up in a blues bar singing, get in a gang fight, meet Thor(we will get to that) & then hang the kids out of a window, before all getting home & going to bed before the parents get back. So standard evening really.

Its very very 80s like too 80’s i was the only one in my group born in the 80’s (just i turned up 5 days later the Berlin Wall came down thats how long i was in the 80s for) but yea this was a little bit too 80s for us to cope with. The hair the trends the way they all hold themselves as people is just like whats all this about. I think ive used my quota for the 80s in this on paragraph alone.

I love the fact the little girls hero is Thor & that she thinks the car mechanic is him as hes got a hammer & long blond hair. It works though they get let off with $5 off their bill her sweetness bless them.

That kid would have not survived hanging onto that rope hanging out of the building no way. first that rope was not tied onto anything so she would have just plummeted to her death. Then she walked so far & so long across that building was it infinity rope, that never stopped? Also no matter how many people were pulling her back up, what are the chances of her not slipping & getting back in so easily, nah not good enough. & also before that when she runs off, how did they know where she went she didnt leave a trail of breadcrumbs or cake or paint, they just went oh thats her dads building they will be in there.

The dinner break up is brilliant at that fancy dinner that she should have been at. It was brilliant. But the sad thing about that scene is the car number plate he has, which is SO COOL but what makes that worse is that it is the actors actual car & plate. Seriously… what a twat.

The friend they pick up eventually who ran off, had lots of fun waiting at that bus station, that was brilliant light relief. Especially stealing back the glasses & the rat & the phone box. I really enjoyed those bit.

Baby sitting blues isnt that good of a song, but it was very clever, especially, when the bad guys were after them all the time & that even they had to sing to get past the stage.

I do like the fact that they end up in a car that gets stolen, thats quite funny.

Yellow driving gloves nah no way lovie they are horrible.

Overall probably didnt pay as much attention to it as the 4 of us should have. We did improve our score compared to last time at the quiz. & as much as i laughed at this film & there were funny bits, films like this are much better now & are less random. A good watch but would have been much better to view in the 80s & 90s not the teenies.
