I don’t like to complain about stuff, but when I do I get a bee in my bonnet & that is it. I physically can’t be stopped & I become enraged. So here is my rant about my odeon cinema, which up til now I’d only had a problem with once, but the more I’m looking into this I am hacked off.

Sub note: I will be updating this as I go so you all get the full picture. Thanks for sticking with me & my rant people. But I just need to vent.

Before I start I’d like to say a huge thank you to the following people who I’ve spoken to on Twitter about this they have been really professional. They are Toby & Ollie & they need a bonus.

You all know by now but I visit Brighton odeon almost twice a week with my limitless card & was really looking forward to seeing Johnny English & Venom this week. I had Johnny English booked up & was going to wait for next weeks times to book up venom on Thursday or Friday, then this week would be small foot, el royal & first man (including taking my dad to that)

So Tuesday afternoon I head to the cinema to see the film after work. The back door to the cinema was locked so assumed there was an issue with them(they do break from time to time) so went to get in at the front & couldnt get in. There was one sign on the door that said whoops but we’re delaying our morning showings please come back later. It was 5:20. customer service had no one there & I couldn’t get a hold of anyone on Twitter til the following day. It was only 2h after my film should have started that there was an error message online. Also up to this point you could still book tickets online for the cinema.

Since this point I have been told there’s been technical issues & a fire safety issue. I understand that fire safety is really important which I have since found out by my own means that this is the issue & not through you guys (just says technical error still & a temporary closure still) but I was really looking forward to seeing more films in the next week. All films now for the next week have been cancelled & there is no date as to when or if my odeon is going to re open.

This is why odeon Twitter guys have been helpful busy sending across a generic update & saying sorry but not actually telling me or a few other people I know when it’s going to be reopen.

I know they are doing your best to solve these issue but as a limitless customer where odeon already have my money each month, I’m feeling a little hard done by. If I was a paying customer to have seen that film on Tuesday I could have got a refund. However 2 weeks with no film (the week just gone & the one to come) isn’t very good, especially as when the cinema is open a couple of these film may not be in the cinema after this time or will only be view able while the rest of us are at work & cant see them

This therefore means that I now have to go & pay money else where to see these film which I really want I see. An added expense I shouldn’t have to make. I mean it’s bad enough that sometimes you don’t show the films I want to see but this isn’t on.

I’d also like to know why there isn’t an email or message system at the odeon especially for us limitless or premier customers where you can see where we book for, a warning system saying oh we’ve had issues sorry there are no films today. Even if it’s just a code to say this & send a blanket email out to all the people who have been to that cinema in the last month that there is an issue.

It would also be good to know when my cinema is going to be reopened too, so I can plan ahead. Me & my friends as part of my birthday in a few weeks we’re all going to see queen but now we may go else where if we’re not sure it’s going to all be up & running.

I’ve been a limitless member of theirs for almost 3 years now basically since it started & this is the first time I’ve ever had to complain officially.

I hate complaining about anything. I think that you should always be grateful & polite & that you should just carry on but this has just pushed me over the edge. So apologies for ranting but I had to be done.

That’s what I sent the odeon yesterday. I have since found out from some people online that when they have message the odeon they have said that we should all go to our next nearest odeon… it’s 30miles away in the sticks it’s going to take more than the cost of a film ticket to get there & back & Park & it’s a 90min drive each way. You must be joking right.

So I’m starting a campaign for us all to complain against it. If we all do it they have to send us back something other than a generic response. If you need to complain about the Brighton odeon or any issue you have this is the email address you will need. gs@odeon.co.uk I practically had to beg them to get this. The only issue is it says we will aim to get back to you in 7 days which may mean our cinema is open by then. I highly doubt it.

The people who work at Brighton odeon are helpful & have always sorted anything out that I need there & I enjoy my cinema trips. It’s what I do in the evenings.

So I’m going to stop typing now at 12:30 on 13/10/18 as I’m going to my local cinema to take my dad to see first man which I have had to pay out for as I promised him a trip to the odeon today. I will be updating this as I go people so thanks for sticking with this so far.

Its now the 14th still nothing at all. No online update, no reply to an email, nothing.

15th, im in the local paper. Someone picked up on me & a couple of other people talking about it & we told them what we knew. Still have no real answer from them though.

We are now on the 17th of the month & i can now book tickets for friday, but its still as a maybe. They cant confirm yet that they are open which is a shame. Dont want to book all of next week & then it be shut again. Still no word on my complaint either or if were getting any of our limitless money back yet.

19th & my Odeon has reopened yes at last. On the same day i have received a reply from the odeon saying thanks for the feedback we will take it on board & cant issue you a refund or compensations due to the t&c. Which is fair enough until you see people online messaging them & then odeon saying dm us your limitless card number & we will see what we can do. WHAT THE HELL?! ONE RULE FOR ONE & NOT THE OTHER… thats just not acceptable odeon. Dont tell me one thing & Then offer bits to other people at least give me a response to that. So i’ve sent my evidence to them & mentioned that i now wont get to see Small Foot unless they give it an extended run. You know its one of the films of the year to watch… This will keep going people until i get an answer, but at least my cinema is open again.

I got film points for my other membership card that was what i got.
