Spoilers
To Daryl (from school about ten years ago) you may meet all sorts of famous people in the west end but you have now been name checked in my blog. We were going to see this in the cinema together but by the time we got round to it being so young & stupid it was only on late in the evening. So we didnt go together.
Also when they were filming this due to a terror alert in London they couldnt film inside churches so Westminster Abbey is actually Lincoln Cathedral & they filmed there the day before i went up the hill to it… BOOOOOO!
This is also one of those where i’ve not read the book so apologies people.
Tom Hanks is the greatest actor in the world. He could be in some crappy film like Sharknado 4 & make it credible. (if he is it in sorry). But his performance as Robert Langdon is brilliant. He commands the screen & at no point do you every worry for him or his safety because hes Tom Hanks he is going to save the day.
Paul Bettanys Monk is good especially with the pain threshold. That kinda freaked me out when i first saw the film, as i believed this was a myth, and people didnt actually do that to themselves.
Audrey Tautou is key to the film, but throughout shes just an add on like a side kick, right until the last 40mins or so, and then her character properly develops, sorry we should have known more, not just as flash backs but with some extra explanation at the time to make us care.
Ian McKellen is just a charming old man. Even when his character goes from a man with a hobby to the villain, you still want him to get what he has always craved. & that there is the mark or good acting and selling the performance.
Now considering i hadnt read the book, i worked out quite early on into the film what was going to happen, and realise that she was going to be Jesus’ family. Which is why i was hacked off we didnt have any more of her back story.
Why did noone else go looking for the little girl if they knew she was really alive?
Are the french police (and to that extent later on the British police) idiots? Seriously? they are just shit they should have worked all this out. The being said the tracker in the soap was good.
If there key code account number was incorrect, what would have happened to that safe deposit box.
How did the church have so much money to pay the teacher? & it wasnt something all of the church was involved in just like a small percentage.
Im scared of lifts too, something me & Tom Hanks character have in common just mines my own worry not through a bad experience.
I know they believed he killed the guy but other than that why does anyone believe this symbologist, he only takes the facts in from of him to solves it something all these other people could do as well.
The line i have to get to a library is brilliant, there should be more boring lines like that in films.
It is a very good film, until you work out what going to happen after 30min. then you sit there waiting for it to kick off for an hour & a half before it does & then it ends. That being said Tom Hanks is still the man.
