Do i Seriously have to put Spoiler down….
Right i was kind of dreading watching Aladdin if im honest. I haven’t seen it since the great Robin Williams passed away last summer. The man was a genius… a true legend in all respects. Its almost like he was the third parent bringing me up. He had always been on our TV in films, chat shows comedy skits, he was always there. I was so worried i would cry throughout watching it. I was doing really well really well, right up to the last part when Aladdin has his final wish and he asks him about his freedom, and you know hes going to have to say good bye to everyone, as hes free at last. Im crying typing this now just thinking about it. Even listening to Rob Thomas’ amazing new song Trust You isn’t getting me through this. Right im composed now, breath deep girl you can type through this, just don’t read this bit back.
Anyhow now time for a proper review.
Disney and Kids films are always better for adults than kids, i mean come on seriously some of the quips and one lines just go over kids heads and its only when you grow up you understand. No wonder your parents go oh lets go see this film. One of my favourite bits is the hole explaining the 3 wishes bit, no exchanges swaps or refunds as the T&C is so cool. Kids are too busy watching the genie change to pay attention. Also the opening scene with the market stall, i read shortly after he died that Robin was blind folded & given about 20 every day items to try and describe & sell, without knowing what they were, and that they would use the best. See you don’t appreciate that at the time.
Jafar is an amazing Disney Villain. He truly is the fact that you meet him before the hero is always a good start, bit like Loki. At the end of the day yes what he wants is bad, but he goes the right way about getting it. At the end of the day his plan nearly worked completely. Goes to show that mighty evil ones as Iago says do have there eventual floors, Jafars was just having too much power.
I often think here in the UK we are a bit like a Genie PHENOMENAL COSMIC POWERS… IDDY BIDDY LIVING SPACE. Just think about that peoples.
Why has Rajar not killed everyone in that palace. Seriously who is their tiger tamer. No one has been properly eaten or attacked. Except that first prince we see, but all he has is a wardrobe malfunction.
Also how come no one noticed the Princes had A gone missing B the people didnt recognise her & C she didnt take any money. Also is that the only Market Place, seriously i think they would have more than one. I live and work in a cosmopolitan city & we have 3.
Surely those Guards also have a more important job than to stop Aladdin all the time, you know like why waist all of your men on one guy & not just 2. There could be another 8 Aladdin’s out there getting away with this too.
The Carpet Ride. Well just YouTube it people, it possible to go from India to Greece, to Egypt, to France, to China & i think there’s a couple of other stops there too. & then they still get home for dinner WTF!!!!! seriously, Also i would not trust a flying Carpet to get me there. What if he gets tired.
Prince Ali has been trending quiet a bit this week due to the FIFA elections, and all i can think of id that song. It been allover the internet. Its a shame its all been for nothing, with Blatter getting in.
My moans in this review are picky. I love this film. I know it word for word, lyric for lyric, quip for quo. I probably love it even more ( not that i knew i could love it any more than i already dead) now that Robin Williams is no longer with us. So i am going to leave you with my favourite line of the entire film which will just put a smile on your face, and make you remember him for all the times he made you laugh.
Jafar Jafar, Hes our Man, If he Cant do it… GREAT!!!!
