What to do on the hottest sunniest week off the year that you happen to book off… go to the cinema of course. Yep an air conditioned dark room for me to watch a film in is exactly what i need in my life. It might not be The Flash but lets find that out together.

For a 12:15 showing on a thursday, id like to say hi to the other 11 people in the screening with me you are all heroes woohoo.

Trailers, Indi (see Mads appeared & i paid attention) Oppenheimer, Blue Beatle & something else but i cant remember. But that inc adverts trailers & cineworld stuff was 30mins before the film started, thats a bit of a piss take, sorry cinema but it is.

& then the film started… That was not a good film, but it had a moment that was ahhhhhhhh.

So my cinema was pretty empty & to those other 11 people i am here now apologising, but the last scene in act 3, i audibly shouted WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK! I was livid i hadnt seen it coming at all. But holy crap. I mean it says how badly this film was received, were a few weeks down the road now as i write this & its still not common knowledge the end of this movie. So no one saw it. But holy fucking crap. The film got an extra star from me for that moment (& up to that point it only had 1 star in total).

I went to go see this film for Michael Keaton & not much else if im honest. I knew he wasnt turning up for ages into the film, so when he did an hour in i was like oh okay this will step up now. It was a glorified extended cameo for sure, & what he did was good, but it was for nostalgia reason & to get people like me into the cinema to see the film, which lets be honest its did. So well done for marketing it like that DC, finally.

After the initial opening of the movie & those kids which was crazy, it took a little while for anything really flash related to happen. I get we dont just want super heroes to use all their powers all the time, but for a super hero who can so so much, its all a bit weird that when we do use it its little until we hit the end of act 2. Just seemed odd.

As much as i said in the trailer including Keaton was a good move to get people like me to see the movie, but by putting 2 flashes in, made that twist which should be a major twist, fall a little. It was when he was going to find his double a bit of a let down for sure. Also the whole superman/woman reveal too should not have been in the trailer. Urgh this film got so much wrong in even the trailer…

We easter egged collected as well, we did a lot of that, so much so people randomly appearing & bit happening (inc a sky beam tick that off your DC bingo card) It all just felt false. In fact this is the 3rd film where someone has randomly appeared in something when they arent in the movie this year, its getting boring that person. Im getting bored now.

What actually did happen to his mum? We never see it in the film? At All? I need an answer to that please, please? But do i care enough about it to wait for another film… no not really.

I worked out really early on that someone was going to be the bad guy. It was obvious. It was screaming Red flag so much.

The script was lacklustre & the action sequences were meh. I actually craved an MCU hoard attacking people at one point made out of CGI.

I didnt enjoy this. & even with that huge oh fuck moment, at the end was not enough to save it. I was ready for this to be a let down but without that moment, it would probably be my worst watch of the year, for sure.
