& we have made it. The fourth film in 2 days. Another Horror film, but this one is meant to be the funny lighthearted one. So lets do this.

Back in screen 8 again, & the exact same chair, im nothing if not consistent. This screening had about 25 people in, so not as sold out as Midsommar. Its also a meerkat day too so lots of twos with buy one get one free.

Trailers were almost the same as the ones before midsommar, we also had once upon a time in Hollywood too, the new very long one. so didnt actually pay to much attention to the trailers if im honest.

& then the film started… & it was clever & new it was a bit meh, but lapped it up, which made it a better film.

Adam Driver is properly showing how versatile he is at the moment. He doesnt just want to be remembered as Kylo Ren he wants to show you he can do it all, & with this he really is. Just waiting for the Rom Com now Adam. I love the fact hes completely in on the joke & the film as well & that he keeps saying throughout the film that hes got a bad feeling about this or that its not going to end well. All the little in jokes & references were about him & his characters too. & that Smart car HA.

Bill Murray was good too. I love how dry & dull he made his character, it made it even funnier to watch, because your expecting him t obe the life & soul but hes just meh what happens happens.

Some of the throwbacks to other peoples character in other work was cool & also references to other Zombie films. Some where little throw away bit which if you blink you missed & some were just omg they really just did that, good on you movie. I love movies that make you work for the easter eggs & bits like this when your not really meant to, but then you think about it & its everywhere.

The idea of the Fracking (which i am actually all for by the way) causing everything is really clever & then just the government ignoring it as just well its happened is good too. I can imagine them doing that.

The separate visits to the dinner & the fact its all mirrored & repeated is fantastic. One of the best bits of the film.

The bit before the final stand ruins the film if im honest, as much as we knew something was odd with that character we didnt need that moment. Its just an oh really film do you think were stupid, fuck you moment. It then does take away from the end as your hacked off with the film for doing that.

Also for a zombie film there should of been a bit more blood & guts & grimness if im honest. I want my zombies to actually feel a little more like zombies, that just dust.

I laughed quite a bit, but i actually think i laughed more at midsommar, if im honest. But there were a couple of moments where i laughed so much that i then think i missed the next joke. A lot of people did that.

Its a good film which is let down by a couple of bad points if im honest. Sort those moments out & were looking at new Zom Com modern classic. Lets be honest though, nothing will ever beat Shaun of the Dead. Give it ago if your up to it
