Time for another cinema trip… The Accountant 2. Im so hoping this is an improvement on the first one cos the first was Meh. How could Affleck not play wooden & the twist was too late to care about it. So please build on this please.
Theres about 30 people in my screening which is pretty good. Its the 8pm showing on a tuesday night. I was expecting a few more meerkat people.
Trailers, mission impossible, thunder bolts, until dawn, final destination & i cant remember what the last one was but we had 5 for sure.
& then the film started… well its a slight improvement on the first.
Even in a film where Ben Affleck is meant to be wooden & bland, he somehow is too wooden… yea i know. I get that hes meant to be that, but there was no real effort to it at all. Also half the joke of the suspense as to who he really was & what he did was over after youve seen the first one so you just want to shout at the film to get on with it.
Johnny is the best part of the film, he is the polar opposite but we need that. Although we didnt need the whole hotel room phone call which took far too long & the whole dog & cat thing the pay off you did see coming but it was so passing that it didnt matter.
I did sit there at points going come on film lets get on with this please. It dragged it out. We all knew what we were going to do. Even if your not a film nerd like me you could work out where the kid was & what was going to happen in the final show down just get to that part please, because the final show down was really good. Every time there was something at steak &a fight or a bit of violence that was good &met the expectation, it was just all the long over filled stuff.
Please hollywood, find a new good villain actor please, i know you cant use Mads & Ben for everything, but still find someone thats not instantly forgettable that we dont really care about. We only cared about one of them for one reason but the rest of them including hench men we couldnt give a crap about at all. I know we are meant to be here for the hero but i want to think when i go to the movies that you know maybe theres a chance we might lose. Is that too much to ask? Also being the villain is much more fun than being the hero.
Im glad we saw more of the help this time & its more than just her, yes some of the ethics are not the best practice & does show exactly what some people can hack in & do, but im glad we saw more of that now we know whos helping.
The side plot was weird but ended up being super important right before the start of act 3, i think we should have built on that more & made it more important then just 2 sprinkles & then suddenly you know the thing weve mentioned a tiny amount its fucking important. I would have been more invested in that then the main plot to follow it from that way rather than go through everything else to get to the part where they link.
How much was JK paid for all of 5 minutes of screen time? Also if that is what happens at bingo i aint going.
The dancing & the speed dating were fun but were i dont think we needed either of them. Also he ruined dating for everyone in that one scene, cheers mate.
This was perfectly average & gave you some good action set pieces, but if im honest due to it being drawn out & a not very good lead, i will probably when we get to the year end review forget that i saw this.
