So im waiting to go back into screen 5 after seeing Jaws to see my next film Stuber, & im a little concerned. Not by the huge school trip who tried to trash the place after watching Spiderman, no not them. Im more concerned about odeons security.
For a while i stood on the upstairs lobby just on my own leaning against a poster for the playmobile movie(wtf a paymobile movie we dont need that) whic was really comfortable to lean on, & i was looking on my phone & id say 11 member of staff or security just walked past me & not one asked me if i was okay, or i i needed help, or why i was just hanging around in a lobby that i shouldnt have been in. Not one. I hadnt shown anyone my ticket either to still be in this lobby, so Odeon buck up your security & staff please. I could of been anyone in that lobby & you did nothing.
anyhow then i went back into screen 5 & got the exact same chair i had for Jaws get in. Id say there was about 25 people in screen for a pretty poorly advertised film if im honest, which was on at 10pm. Screen 5 is huge, but that is honestly not that bad. Good on them.
Trailers, we had Spy(the other Batista film) Hobbs & Shaw, Angle has fallen (at last ive been waiting for that) & i think the lion king, but im not 100% sure. Mainly because i think it might of been another comedy. They did have the special meekat one again tho. Also note to odeon dont give your films at 10pm 25 mins of trailers & adverts no no no.
& then the film started… Basically its one of the most unlikely buddy comedys with the big hero & normal guy that should never really be in a film together just nailing it every single second.
I mean we know Batista is good but Kumail this was a chance for him to stand out & nail the normal everyday person role struggling in life, & he really does & it makes the film so much better because of it. & his electric car too. He really does relate to the everyday person including all of his emotional problems on the side. He really does make the film what it is.
Batista is becoming a proper actor on his own now too. He proving he can do this without the MCU or James Gunn & that is good growth.
Lots of good one liner & funny bits which i properly laughed at through out there was one point where i was full on belly laughing at something & that is always good.
The bad guys were a bit too one dimensional & were a bit crap & you werent invested tin them at all apart from in the vets if im honest. They didnt put up much of a fight or live up to anything at all & that ultimately stopped the film from being outstanding/
I did like how mundane & boring our normal lives are & i laughed a lot at that, beacuse it hit home & was sooooooooo true.
Its a good funny film which did have a loving side too it & has some amazing references to the films early on & other films before. Its well worth a watch & i only 90 minutes of your life. You will enjoy it & you will leave smiling. Catch it if you get a chance too.
