Woof Woof!
No im not in Milwaukee peoples but if you thought that have 10 popcorn points. Nah its time to watch Strays. A film which im hoping does exactly what it says on the Tin & deliver laughs & craziness & lost of very cute dogs. Cross your fingers & paws for this.
I got my favourite seat in screen 1. Its been a while buddy. Hi. This is their biggest screen at the cinema, so it looked a bit sparse, however id say it still had about 40 people in it for the 6pm showing which is always good. I also know this isnt going to appeal to the masses either.
Trailers, Equalizer 3 (yes {JUSTICE FOR DAVE}), Dune2 (yes) Theatre Camp (yes) The Blackening (yes) & something else but i cant remember. But there was one more & i was like really 5 trailers? this isnt a marquee movie if you get me. Obviously they all fit into the possible age range.
& then the film started… & it did exactly what it said on the tin & did exactly what you expected it to from the trailer.
Im going to say the bit that i didnt enjoy first & then will heap praise. The Poo joke. It didnt need to be that long or that graphic. I mean i get it, i really do but then i was just sitting there going yea i get the point of this, but this is going on for a bit to long now. Just get to the gag about it & then let us continue the movie please.
What a voice cast. Will, Jamie, Isla (i always love how Isla is always just so rude when she does voice overs its fantastic). Reggie is just adorable. I love him & his little bandana & his tennis ball. Hes just so perfect. He is such a good boy. & the fact there is a therapy dog ahhhhhhhhhhhh.
I laughed a lot. An awful lot. There was a joke as well, which had a really long pay off. I was sitting there for ages thinking what was the Devil in the sky that was referenced every now & then & then with about 15minsto go it was revealed & i almost snorted. It was such a good pay off. I laughed a lot at that. Thats how you do it peoples. Take note.
With so many of these films they often dont actually give you the end you expect or advertise or want, because someone has an epiphany. But no this film had the balls to actually do it (& ive used those words on purpose) & it did not disappoint. Im glad they did & i loved it.
The invisible fence…. oooooh i laughed at that. I so get that. The humping… oh god crazy. & then the fireworks… that was so clever (especially with the monologue dogs). The eagle saying oh fuck not again…But it was when they got high… oh my… poor bunnies. That was all just so cleverly done. All insane, but none of those moments were drawn out past their enjoyment point. The film knew when to go & when to stop (except the poo bit).
Fetch & Fuck… Loved it…did what it said on the tin. What a name for a game.
Some good life lessons about humans & pets & treatment of each other & things that are going on in the world. Always be nice to your pets & friends peoples. Always try & live your best life besties at the end of the day, do what makes you happy, never be judge by others. If its what you want go out & grab it.
This was hilarious & fun & sweet & just such good fun. 95mins of giggling. you could watch a hell of a lot worse than this at the moment. It was a joy & if this is your bag, you will adore it & leave the cinema beaming like i did.
