At Last.
Its finally time to see Small Foot. It seems like the world has been conspiring against me to see this film. But we are finally here.
The reason why seeing this film is so important is because it’s on my 31 to watch list from the start of the year & so far the ones I’ve missed it’s not been my fault or issue. But this one things keep getting in the way of me. So to finally get to it was huge.
I always am professional at work but this was one of those occasions where it was like nope it 4:29 on a Friday of off lads bye. I ran basically to the cinema to make sure I got in before the end of the trailers which I did.
So how many people were in screen 7 with me come on guess… none. Absolutely no one. What! 4:30 on a Friday & it was just me. Yes I know it had been on for a while but still. Just me.
Trailers we had Ralph, Peter Parker, LEGO, poppins & dragons. Oh & nativity rocks too which I have now found out is partly for children in need might be worth a venture to see it then.
& then the film started… why odeon why did you keep me away from this film for sooooooo long it’s absolutely brilliant.
Okay let do some negatives first. There was a little bit too much singing. Not all kids films need everyone to have to sing in them & we need to learn this it’s not the 90s anymore. That being said Commans song about the tribes history was brilliant & should be commended & up for an Oscar maybe. It won’t be but I’ve said it. I do believe that’s my only negative.
An epic cast too all going full on & actually sounding like they are enjoying doing their voices & bringing it to the animation. You know Danny’s Devito is Channing Tatums dad for crying out loud. Corden is always perfect for voice over work he really is. Even though everyone else hates him or finds him arrogant I still love him. He’s done… Romeo Done. If you are in the know you know.
Amazing Morals for kids to say & believe what you feel is true, & not to show off all the time, & not bully & just be yourself & everything will work out. It was also a good social commentary on the current immigration situation around the word & being welcomed or not & how certain things aren’t making the world a better place.
There were some adult joke that were just epic. So epic that i was very glad I had the cinema to myself. I properly went into a fit of giggles about 5 times, 1 so loud I did then check that I was on my own.
The snow & the most & the visuals were beautiful as well properly stunning & inspiring. For animation it was super cool.
Yes you may say the story has been multiple times before, but it had a new approach to it. It didn’t feel stale or over worked, it was fresh & vibrant & if I had kids I would so take them to see this.
So was it worth the 5 week wait to finally see this film at the last chance possible. Fuck yeah! It was brilliant & was a truest joyous 98minutes of my life & I left with a huge smile on my face. A proper heartwarming film. Take your kids to see this if you can not the nutcracker. You will thank me for it.
