People now ask me why i spend so much of my time on Letterboxd (if you’ve not heard of it go google it seriously it will change your film life{ if you dont have it & you are a film buff the hell}) & its to find odd films that id never watch & the try to find them to watch them. Now the majority of this year all people have been on about is this film called PIG, which has been really hard to track down in the uk at all. Its was released at the start of August & was only available in London… until last week, when my local cinema showed it for one week only…. yep my local independent randomly put it on & i still have gift vouchers for it, so yea i went & saw PIG EKKKKKKKKKKKKK!!!!

If people as me where my favourite seat is in the cinema its officially screen 3 seat e1 at the dome at the moment. Its a 2 seater sofa, with high arms & it learns into the sound proof carpeted wall quite well. Its super comfortable & lush & i love it. It is the best seat the dome have & as a one with social distancing that 2 seater is all mine hehehehehehehehe, so yea thats where i saw it.

Everyone else in the screening was a couple. 2 couple of millennials like me & the other 3 couples much older people 2 of them left half way through too, not sure why. Youve finally found PIG at the cinema & youve leaving 40 mins in. It must have been a good reason.

Trailers, Bond (yep) new Spiderman (yep) Eternal (yep) & The Many Saints of Newark (nope but for someone who likes the sopranos i can understand they would go yep). So a right interesting bunch of films there.

& then the film started… note to self dont go & watch a film thats about food before you have dinner… I got home soooooooo hungry.

Lets get it out there, i cared for that Pig more than i cared for Daisy Dog in John Wick. There i said it. I bloody loved that Pig. She was ginger & fluffy & so cute & just went around oinking & having a good time i loved her. What a Pig.

Nicholas Cage isnt a very good actor, im sorry hes no. His reputation proceeds him & its not my cuppa tea. He is wooden in this film, however at points its needed for the character & the way he delivers some of his line especially the very random bit half way through the film about the San Andreas Fault, that was good & put it all in perspective a bit ( then you remember hes there for a Pig). But hes okay i guess in this.

I like that it was in 3 parts & each one was a menu that was good & all the food that was in the film looked appetising. Except the really random restaurant half way through (we will get to that). Are Truffles really that important in the food trade. I never remember my dad being like where are my truffles when i used to work for him & he cooked.

Alex Wolff is growing into a fine actor. From that appearance in Jumanji to now you can really see how hes grown & how hes a much better actor & can really hold his own now. Compelling & stunning, steals every scene hes in (except when hes in it with the Pig).

So the restaurant the posh restaurant at the half ay point from the klosh filled with smoke all the way to the end of that scene i giggled at, i was worried tho as no one else laughed at the first bit which i laughed out at & then silent laughed at afterwards. That whole scene was just fantastic & i loved every second of it. All the different conversations you get & people you meet in that 8 minutes is amazing. It makes the film really classy & is the perfect tone for the middle point of the film. In that one moment you understand why everyone is the way they are.

All the city & forest shoots werent over used either. IT just all felt right, from the hut to the flat, to the morgue, to the posh house & the dinner. It all just felt right & was shoot so beautifully. Stark when it had to be but stunning when the moment required it. It just nailed the vibe.

I really really liked it & i would just like to thank the Letterboxd community for recommending this throughout the year. I am so happy ive finally seen it. It really did make me smile & that Pig is wonderful.
