No cinema for 2 weeks is hard, that what happens in the wait for the big summer films it really does. So Thank god for an American Political behind the scenes thriller, to get me going.

A evening film this one, opening week but not many people in the cinema, id say about 20 ish, which must mean everyone is so fucked off with politics right now that they dont want to see a film about it.

Trailer wise, the one with Chris Evans about his niece gift looks really sweet & cute, & i might go & see it if my Odeon shows it. There was also Hampstead which i still cant get over that Will from W1A is in it (by the way if he ever wins an oscar for acting he will still be Will from W1A). Also my cousin Rachel nah not sold on that sorry. & that was it trailer wise 3. I know where was my Dunkirk (were almost there people dont worry).

So film time. Film was solid & well acted & i had no idea where the fuck it was going to take us. Yes obviously it helps that its all kind of a flash back but i still didnt know at that point how much shit was going to go down.

Jessica Chastain was amazing, i would not want to take shit from her. She completely plays everyone & means business no matter what, weather its right or wrong, drugs, bribes sex whatever she just destroys everyone & there is no bullshit about it. Even at the end when you think shes done shes not finished yet.

Mark Strong always gives a good performance in what ever he does, so had no concerns about him in this at all. Ok yes he could have done with a bit more twang in his American accent he was doing to sound a little less British but other than that he was on point.

If 30% of what happened in the film actually happened in real life, then there is no wonder politics is doomed. Its so fucked up but oh man i could take my eyes off it. I was just siting there watching everything unfold thinking oh man what followed by oh my god no etc. It really did get me going & then after one huge twist she played her trump card twice, & both time i sat there going oh my fucking god wanting to stand up & applaud the woman, for showing everyone is as twisted as she is, and shes merely a spec.

I can see why this film didnt do as well in America, a film about American politics & a Gun Law is already alienating half of the possible viewing audience, & out of whats left who is really going to want to go & see it.

However i love this kind of thing therefore if it is something you are vaguely interested in go see it before i leaves your screens people you will come out with your head so all over the place, but you will love the film for it.
