Saturday morning cinema to start of the weekend. An 11:30am showing of In the Heights, which i think i can sing the opening part of the film with them when it starts. When i told my parents last night my plans for tomorrow was to see this they went oh really that look crap, but i swung them around with 3 words Lin Manuel Miranda & my dad went who & my mum went oh it must be okayish then, hehe. So lets see whos hype it lives up to.

Time to play guess how many people were in the cinema with me… anyone anyone… ONE!!!!
So heres my questions which is weirder to be the only person in the cinema to watch a film or having another random one join you… I asked the internet & overwhelmingly you all agreed its weirder to be joined by another one.

Trailers Supernova which is next week, F9 which will probably be next week & a felicity jones film about a love affair from years ago being researched its a book i believe hang on (googles for 4 seconds & then remembers its) The Last Letter to your Lover by Jojo Moyes (me before you lady) so that looks brilliant & im up for that & im not normally up for lovey dovey films.

& then the film started… Wow… it really did have the west end musical feel of making you want to feel every single emotion possible.

Basically at a musical you sometime do just want to sing along & get involved in whats going on the stage & i felt like that watching In The Heights. I mean it helps that all the songs are super catchy & so well choreographed & every character is lovely & relatable & you just get swept away with it all. I was just in awe & felt so inspired.

I cried at a couple of songs, the one about having a breath that was properly emotional & sad & i really did just feel for her & how she wanted to be the girl who got away & how she felt like she had let everyone from the block down. That really got to me & my soul. I wanted to reach through the screen & tell her shes done everyone proud.

The opening number is amazing, it set everything ups so perfectly. The passion & the commitment to it that build up the entire film just is nailed & you do sit there & feel yes this is going to be special. The best song of the film is the one at the pool when they are all dreaming of who won the lottery, thats brilliant. Every single thing is this film was choreographed so perfectly & down to a t. Especially off the side of that building wow.

So ive been to New York at the end of the Winter, there was still snow on the ground it was cold. & i have also been mid Autumn, & 5 hours before i left to get on my plan i repacked as i saw how warm it was going to be. So i can imagine it can be that fucking hot in the summer. I was melting in October.

Do blackouts happen that often in New York? Ive never been in one but films & TV make it a regular occurrence.

Every story & character felt normal. Okay yes there were some redisclose dreams that people had but still it just felt so relatable & i think that is what makes a film stand out from just being okay. Everyones little storys were so good.

I saw the ending coming a mile off by the way.

I just had a bloody good time watching it & felt like i wasnt at cineworld but at the west end. Its one of those films that if you like musicals, good honest storys (& a bit of Lin Manuel) you will adore this & be walking around wanting to sing the sound track to everyone.

Basically this restored my hope in the world & that things are going to get better.
