Monday Night Cinema Horror Night in the rain, yeah thats how i roll now. Its lobbing it down so much so one of the levels of the carpark at the marina looks like its got a waterfall as apart of it. Yeah its that ewwwww.

Anyhow yeah im off to go & see a horror film. Okay its part of the Happy Death Day Universe so its comedy horror but still its horror, i expect some properly gruesome deaths. Im looking forward to this.

Id say teens to 40 year old at the cinema for this, basically anyone whos seen happy death day or needs a new horror film. Id say there was about 40 people there which isnt bad. The couple in my row talked all the way through the first 20mins of the film & then proclaimed they werent enjoying the film quite loudly at that point & then got up & left. Cheers for ruining the rest of our viewing.

Trailers, Escape room champions (not seen any of them nah) The forever purge (not seen any of them nah) Space Jam Legacy (random to show this before horror but i kind of am looking forward to it) & Black Widow (is it sunday yet thats when we have it booked). So half & half really.

& then the film started…so that couple who claimed they didnt like the film, im not sure what they were on. Yeah it Crap & yeah you know what its going to do & how its going to go, but its got enough gore, jumps & jokes to hit the spot & the film knows exactly what it is. The only reason i could see why they wouldnt enjoy that would be if they wanted a serious horror film.

In what film is Vince Vaughn (& this isnt a spoiler its why the films called what it is) not swapping bodies & turning into an 18 year old high school girl & does her cheerleading impression not funny. It not his best work no way, but he is nailing it & its fun to watch & i think we all laughed more at the film then hid our faces. Hes very good as a teenager. Kathryn Newton was good to being a murderer. Properly freaky at times (pun entirely intended).

The people who make the film tho are her two high school best friends. They own it & are so fab & come up with some proper horror clichés but its perfect because they say it as a joke & then about 5 mins later when it happens to them they freak out & go why didnt we stop ourselves. They are the best.

When Alan Ruck turned up i was like oh yea this is going to be good….

Some of the deaths were gross, some were fun & cool & some were hilarious. I mean a lot of the people who died did get what they deserve or you hope in real life that bad things happen to those kind of people. So that felt good when that happened. There was one that was very creative.

Im not going to play glow in the dark mini golf ever again.

Theres a changing room scene, where theres a heart to heart between some characters which often these kind of horror films dont have & it did make you feel more for them & understand why certain stuff was happening a bit more. You then related to the situation more (apart from being a serial killer obviously).

& theres a bit in a car hahaha… also why in horror films do cars never actually start… seriously. urgh

I mean this film isnt going to be scene by many people or be ground breaking or stunning. Its pretty easy to work out what happens for the entire film with the 3 sentance synopsis. But it didnt pretend to be anything more than it was & it made me laugh, jump, scared & happy. So im very glad i finally saw it.

I left the cinema in the rain smiling so thats always good.
