Bank holiday weekend. Football at the parents watch those mighty imps, then go get petrol, go home have dinner then back out to the cinema & then home for bed before my new Tattoo tomorrow, perfect day… or not
Lincoln lost, & then on my way to get petrol huge traffic accident stuck literally 3mins away from the petrol station for 2h30 ish. By the time i got through & got my petrol there was no way i was going to get to the marina on time so i went home
So lets try again shall we on the monday. & ive now got here so thats fantastic. time for the fabulous Cruella at last to end my bank holiday weekend. I am really looking forward to this. Although i have now learnt that even tho driving into the marina from the roof is an accident waiting to happen, its still better & quicker than having to get past the mcdondalds drive through area urgh not nice so many cars so many people not pay attention its just not worth it.
This is the most people apart from ikea that ive been around in a long time id say its half covid full theres probably about 50 of us in here, which is pretty good. Everyone is also a similar age to me mid 20s to early 40s who all grew up with the original live action version of this film.
Trailers In the Heights which when i actually see it im going to miss it if im honest, Black Widow ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, a quiet place 2 which had a very short trailer as they cant show it all to everyone & Dream Horse which should be my next trip to the cinema now. & again that bit we love cinema advert thanks for your support & then Alicia being Lara… hehe bloody love her.
& then the film started…. & it was really good & sassy & almost exactly what i expected it to be.
Emma Stone was bloody good as Cruella she really was & she could have done it all on here own. Emma Thompson was bloody good as the Baroness too. So much so that she cancelled Stone out. They were both proving that it was their film & not the others, which i am guessing is quite fitting considering the one-upwomanship their characters had against each other, but it did mean that some of it you felt okay can we just go back to a little normal acting now. I mean they did both nail it but still it suddenly wasnt the Stone show anymore which is what it should have been.
With those too being on fire, there wasnt enough Mark Strong, which always makes me sad. If there is to be sequel which disney keep talking about which the mid credit scene did elude to, we should see more of him. But its a criminal sin to under use that man in a film, just tragic.
Jasper & Horace, perfect casting perfect performances & just brilliant. Whenever they were on screen you were very worried they were going to fail & it was all going to go wrong but you know that they are just going to do it & it will be epic.
Some of the out fits & costumes they were are fantastic & some of the designs & dresses they make so visually stunning especially at that last ball & the one locked in the safe. Wonderful. That window display, to quote the Revel-Horwood FAB U LOUS!!!! I mean that paper & the style that was so not 70s that was so now & i loved it. By the way i know nothing about fashion, the closest i know about fashion is watching Joe Lycett on the Sewing Bee.
Kayvan Novak!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! when he appeared i did actually go whoop & then realised i was in a room full of people. He will be key in the sequel if we get it.
There were a few bits of dorderling around which probably could have been looked over & speed up & made snappy like the rest of the film, could have been a about 20mins shorter.
I did like all the writing over Cruella when she was gate crashing everything with articles from the press & they way in which she turned up & the whole styling & the rallies fabulous. Really well done & cleverly thought out. & then when she wears the outfits that we think are the dog hahaha.
I really did enjoy this. Its not going to set the world on fire but it made me smile & laugh & want to see if disney make sequel who they will do it. That would be fun. & it would be nice to let Stone shine on her own & not have to share the spot light in her own film.
