Film 2 of 3, & I’m really hoping for some nostalgia here. Charlie’s angels in the 00s was so much fun (mainly due to Rockwell & Murray). I hope these new modern ones aren’t as crap as the critics make them out to be.
Someone in screen 8 is in my chair… the hell?????? Not happy. That being said even though screen 8 is the small & it doesnt take much to fill it. There was at least 60 people in there which was pretty good. Once again lots of different age groups some families, lots of teenage boys though because let be honest they are one of the main demographics for this film.
Trailers we had Star Wars, Cats, Birds of Prey, Bombshell (which i hadnt seen a trailer for before & am now so up for it) & Jumanji. Yea thats a strong set of films to advertise, it really is. Bring on the rest of december & early 2020.
& then the film started… & it wasnt entirely crap if im honest. I was no where near one of the best films of the year, but it wasnt a waste of time at all.
Naomi Scott is the future of british acting she really is. She is the best angel in this film & is so relatable & really enjoyable to watch. She does a really good job in this at being a lead & being support at the same time in this film.
I really like the fact that everyone in this film either takes the piss out of there other characters in films or about them in their real lives, it really is refreshing that its not taking itself as seriously as some of the other versions of these films have. It knows its place that its here for you to enjoy & leave the cinema going yea that was alright i had fun watching that.
The batman conversation with the popculture bit is one of the best scenes of the film. Obviously the closet bits are cool to but the Batman chat is actually one of the funniest things ive seen in ages.
Lots of cameos in this film, from the past & the present very clever, all worth while, all served a purpose, some you really didnt expect to see at all.
These were more plot driven than the 00s versions, which as a strong independent woman i was happy about. It doesnt all have to be about love & boyfriends & looking sexy & 400000 costume changes. Yes people flirted & there was some costume changes & innuendo but it was every 17 seconds it was more like every 10 minutes. So an improvement there.
It had a good twist too, didnt see that coming at the start if im honest. I was expecting at all, i should of been but you know, sometime you miss what hiding in plain sight.
I’m never taking a mint off someone ever again.
I laughed more than i thought i would at some really nerdy stuff in it too. I know thats just me, but i really enjoyed some stuff that no one else in my screen did.
Its harmless fun which does make you leave the cinema going yea i had a good time that was alright.
Girl Power & sisters doing it for ourselves really is truly alive in 2019 & i for one am full on for it.
