This is the biggest test so far for my new commute. Ive finished work at 4:35pm my film starts at 5:10 can i make it in time for the end of the trailers. Its a real test but its going to be interesting. I hope so. Lets see shall we.

Answer yes absolutely. I got there at 5:05. Went grabbed a coffee & was in my seat before the movie trailers started. Happy days. Also the Mando coffee is now very popular, now that tiktok has discovered it. shame your all a year to late to that party.

Theres about 20 other people in the screening of this film. I mean i know its not a film for everything & 5:10 is a weird time for films. A couple of families, a group of millennials & 3 other odd ones who sat nowhere near me & left before i did so i didnt even get to go say hi to them. I need to make a cinema buddy.

Trailers, Shazam (yes) Mario (yes) Dungeons (yes) John Wick (yes) & Guardians (yes) happy bloody days to big blockbusters before a small little indi film woohooo.

& then the film started… & it was a very sweet & funny underdog story which did work & just made you leave the cinema going yep that was nice i needed that.

Woody is always good. I mean im struggling to think of a modern film that ive seen him in when hes not been good. He delivers on all the levels of being a jerk & being caring & being funny & being the lead. Couldnt ask for much more. Each time he was asked to deliver something else in the film he did.

I laughed quite a bit. I have seen a few comedies recently where i havent but this one i did & i was glad that was the case. At times i felt a little awkward about laughing due to the subject matter, but they were joking about themselves too.

The exposition dump was cool. I liked that. Wed met everyone & then it happened & it explained why. That was very good & everyone got there time to shine & their story explained really well.

The film had some very good morals & life lessons in it, but its main one about not always winning & just being happy with what you are & its the small victories which mean the world, not the huge one at the end which you all hope for. Their victory was believing in themselves & him accepting his job & his life now & i love it when a film does that. Its the little things in life.

I love how peoples opinions & attitudes change in the film with the supporting character & what it means to them all. & its not all at the start of act 3 either, some it happens randomly across the film & love that & finding out about themselves.

The best scene is the mouse in the shower. I love that. ITs a proper bonding moment in the film thats sweet & fun but proves a point & i love it & from that point onwards the film is on a good track.

Im sure people will feel sad & empowered watching it at points. I did a little. It had this clarity about it which made me feel good & hopeful in this big dark evil world we live in.

The script was not the best, i could have come up with something better, but it wasnt about the writing it was how it was dealt.

I didnt spend the majority of the film going why is this guy going nope, so i love that this was revealed at the start of act 3. However for the rest of the film for them to only acknowledge it with nopes made that moment notes impactful as it should have been.

If you want a basketball film, this isnt the film for you but if you want an underdog story that makes you leave the cinema going awwwwwwwwwww at the end of it this is the movie for you. Its decent & its sweet & has some good life lessons. IT will leave you smiling at the end.
