Time for some screen x. Why not. & time to watch some chaos although as much as everyone is going ahh its Brad Pitt, im going ahhh its ATJ
Id say 60% full on opening night which is good. Considering its screen x too you have to pay more money for screen x (unlimited less so). Most people id say were my age so millennials. A few people older but no one under the age of 25 there.
So cineworld surprises for August thats very nice. I got a free popcorn & drink, cheers guys. This is definitely a popcorn film, if ever ive seen one. You know what i mean by that right?
So Trailers… first that lush screen x one to get you used to the screen size as its an odd size & you know if something flys past you your gonna be like shitttttttttttt. so that was nice… &then it happened… no forewarning at all, up popped the world Syncopy & i shouted shit! quite loudly. I have been prepping myself for this trailer before Nope in a few weeks time (still livid the rest of the world has had this for a while already) But there the trailer was on Screen X for Oppenhimer. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
i think im gonna go see that. Oh & when the trailer did end i apologised to the rest of the people in my screening & someone actually went nah that was fair enough love.
Other trailers were Black Adam (yes) Shazam (probably) Avatar (prob not) NOPE (ohhh hurray up i need this film) & Mission Impossible 7 (1000%) So that was a lot of trailers but very very good.
& then the film started…. so ive seen quite a lot of mid level action comedy this year (unbearable weight doesnt count in that its got its own category) & out of them all this has been the best & most fun by far.
Once you get past the first 30mins where its trying to take itself seriously, it then gets going & you just roll with it, basically after the first on train death then it gets going (thats kind of a spoiler but lets be honest its a film with assassin on a train someone’s gonna die arent they). It then remembers its an action comedy & tries to get as much in as it possibly can.
Brad Pitt is still a fantastic leading man & holds it all together but lets be honest the film is as good as it is due to ATJ & BTH (Arron Taylor Johnson & Brian Tyree Henry) as the twins. Seriously brilliant. What double act. I would like to see what really went down in Bolivia & everywhere else they went to please, or just them going to West Ham as well. They stole the show.
Cameo heavy, very cameo heavy. I mean one is ruined due to the trailers, but there are a few more & your just like oh okay then really. & when you think about it, it make sense, but did we need that many? Im not sure we did if im honest.
Shout out to Thomas the Tank Engine making a comeback in 2022 for millennials…. i did not have that on my bingo card at all. Also they were so right about being a diesel too. Although there was also a Karen in the film too.
Some really fun deaths & catastrophes happening. I mean i did pay extra for screen x & the 270 screen (once youve screen xd thats it an action film on a standard screen seems a little bit small if im honest {it is worth the 50p more as a member}). Especially the finale for act 3 there was stuff going everywhere & it was so over the top. It was so comical. My head could hear the cinema sins guys sinning it right there & then.
I like how every single detail did link. I would like to go back to see it again to see the few bits i missed at the start, which when e revisited in act 3 i can then go ahh thats why that was the case. Dont just throw that little small line or moment away people, its needed.
He really was unlucky wasnt he?
The styling of the film worked even with some crazy CGI because they had the budget for it. The score worked well too.
Snake warning (dont let Rylan see this film a the moment might push him over the edge).
Lots of late teenies 20s references which were cool, again getting us millennials all going.
I giggled & chuckled while watching it, maybe a few full laughs, but it did make me smile & go ha thats fun.
Once it works itself out it is a pleasant film & a very fun watch to sit there with you popcorn & just go ahhhhhhhhhh it. You could do much worse on your night out at the cinema trust me. If we are gonna make more of these A Tangerine & Lemon Prequel please, if love that.
