Time to go all Fast & Furious after i played catch up to go & see this at the cinema, thought id watch it on sky cinema now its out on there, so lets see if it still holds up shall we.

Synopsis.. Torretto is forced to go rouge after Cipher the world best hacker recruits him for work so she can get a hold all the mcguffin bits from the last few films in order to become the world best terrorist & super power & hold the world to ransom. Torretto keeps betraying his team, which end up with Hobbs in prison with Shaw. They have a fight which leads to them eventually & accidentally breaking out of said prison, which they are then both recruited to join the rest of the furious family. Turns out Torretto is doing this to save his ex who he was in a relationship with in Brazil & there son. Eventually it all comes to a head in Russia when Cipher tries to steal a nuclear submarine, with the codes she now has. Torretto ends up swapping back to save his team to stop the Submarine while the Shaw brothers take over Ciphers plane to save his son, but Cipher escapes. The film ends with everyone back home in New York all joining the family including Hobbs & Shaw & Torretto naming his son Brian after his former partner from the rest of the series.

Its full on there is no doubt about that. Some of the car stunts are off the scale. I mean all those cars falling off the building in new york to stop them was just omfg. Thats one hell of a set piece to pull off, doesnt matter that no one else was there, you have to get that right first time otherwise otherwise thats an expensive reshoot. Its just wow.

The bit on the Ice with the Sub is a bit much if im honest. No way were they all safe from a nuclear disaster. Thats not the case. They would have so all been dead im not buying that.

That being said the best bit of the entire film is Jason Statham on that plane saving that baby. Seriously one of the funniest set pieces in an action film ever. Like i laugh knowing its coming, its just one of the best things i have ever seen & it never gets boring ever. Truly wonderful.

What else is truly wonderful is the fact that Helen Mirren is Mama Shaw. Shes just omg, shes not in it for long but i love that she is. Shes living her best life & its just wow. Good on you love. Dreams do come true.

The wrecking ball in germany is pretty darn cool if you ask me.

Why do we have to keep saying grace in these films, seriously. It gets a bit too much at some points if im honest. I know im not a woman of god, but i dont mind talking about it, but in this franchise its a bit much. The family stuffs all fine(just) but nah stop saying grace at every single meal. Or at least do the two little mice story please.

Some of the destinations in these films are just outstanding & beautiful. Especially Brazil at the start. I love the cinematography & how it just gives you a feel for that place & makes you feel like your there. Okay some can be a bit to stereotypical & politically wrong but it still gives you a feel you would expect from that place.

The plot is a little basic but it actually does work in this. Especially the line we are going to need a bigger truck.

Its enjoyable, its nothing stunning, but it has its place in the movie worls & it knows where it stands. Therefore it ticks every single box & gives you a bloody good enjoyable popcorn film to watch. OTT but in the best way possible.
