Spoilers
First off the person who spoiled this film for me before u watched it who ever it was I can’t remember I will never forgive you. You kept me on tentor hooks waiting for the last 20mins when Shit went down for the rest of the film that was epic. So this maybe a very short review as i dont want to spoil it for you.
A detective film which isn’t detective film which is a thriller & scary & really makes you think about everything in your life. Based on the 7 deadly sins one each day of the week they have to find the killer before he takes his 7 victims lives.
Morgan Freeman & Brad Pitt nail this film. Both on equal billing both bring there A game & you just think you are watching a brilliant film & you forget that the actors are who they are. There are moments you fear for there life & safty & morality, but by god it leaves you wanting more and more. Right up to the point when you think its over and then theres one last rush.
The rest of the lead & supporting cast are brilliant. Gwyneth Paltrow is brilliant in her little role as Brad Pitts wife. Even all of the victims are well cast and too the point especially that man who everyone thinks is dead then wakes up to scare the hell out of everyone.
I know its a thriller but surely it doesnt always rain every single day that badly.
I know hes a detective & everything but they still shouldnt have let him in the library that late that many times. Were they waiting for him? did he call them in advance going im coming for some reading tonight? Also did they know he was retiring & wouldnt need the service soon?
The Car drive to the waste land is amazing. Possibly one of the best pieces of film i have ever seen. So intense, so frustrating, yet you would ask all of those questions as well you feel like you the final passenger in that car wanting the answers.
After that i cant say anymore otherwise i will be a hypocrite of my words at the start. People who’ve seen the film will no what i mean & will now go OMFG!!!!!!!! & Will start thinking of there own opinions about the rest of the film. Which i think is the point of this film to try to see how you may change so you dont fit any sins.
Its an amazing film absolutely brilliant. Its starting to look a bit dated now but i think that adds to the feel of the film. I can imagine going to see this in the cinema in 1995 going oh god & probably feeling very ill but very entertained & fulfilled. If you’ve not watched it please do people. Its worth it. Then maybe in a years time i can add onto this review what happens in the end.
