If you know me & you have been here a while, you will know i write a hit list every year of 32 films (thats the number now) that i want to see at the cinema. If i watch all those 32 film & only those films it pays for the cinema pass & is justified. Theres obviously more than just those films on the watching for the year. But theres always a few that get dealyed or suddenly are on netflix or whatever. But thats what i do, & i always try to not hit the golden buzzer for film of the year until ive watched the top 5 movies.

So this year after having Pedro Pascal Panic for the majority of 2022 i put Strange Way of Life on the list, thinking well, i might get it on BBC4 or all4 at some point, but this will mean its always on my watch list to be viewed. & then after the Cannes film festival it was annoced it was going to be in cinema, because they want it to be up for best short at the oscars this year (they changed their rules about certain films) & so i forgot about it going ahh thats a trip to london thats not happening. & then they released it uk date 25 September. Im actually off that day so i was like a trip to london is doable. It has all sorts of different release dates in europe & then one of our group chat said oh im going today, so i thought id check the film times & saw it was on at the Duke of Yorks & was like oh okay thats doable. They have a weird member set up so i couldnt get general tickets straight away, so i though i will look at my local cinema in worthing…BEHOLD…

So yes the day is here, its time for me to see Strange Way of Life, the film i should not see in the cinema ever, in a bloody cinema. I am so so so excited. Ive had my ticket now for over a month & im buzzing this is going to be so good. I ma grateful i have seen something in advance, so i dont have the major freak out in the cinema & we also get the prerecorded Q&A with the film but this…. ahhhhhh…. this is goign to be major.

The top part of the balcony screening at my local cinema i would say was 70% sold. I have no idea about the floor, but it was a right mix of ages from 15 year olds to people in their 70s. I mean this is the only time or day you can see this in the uk, so it had to be pretty filled.

Trialers The miracle club (maybe) The Great Escaper (yes) flower moon (yes) Dumb money (which is weird bacuse its out) & the old Oak (maybe depends)

& then the films started… I am so glad i saw a few clips before this film. Because if i had not i may have died, because damn.

Sorry thirsting will happen here, my bad.

Were calling it the Pedro Peach okay. & lets just say for the £8 i spent that peach on the screen, it looked rather delcious. Oh my did it look good. So ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Yea that was worth the money for sure. Nice & peachy for 6 seconds. & that is also clearly how our man sleeps. Hes done this 3 times now in films, he starfishes. Oh boy… Yea i am very glad i have known about his peach since May. Its rather nice. & dont get me started on the moment he looks atthe bed & the camera scans down his & hangs for a good few seconds looking at that. Thats cinematography very thirsty cinematography.

Both Pedro & Ethan were extrodinay. So good. Amazing chemistry. The bit in the bedroom with the act off while they get dressed. Incredible. So raw, so angry i loved it. Both of them proved they are brillaint actors & can jsut own whatever. I mean that shirt just about covers him… sorry day dreaming.

Ethan Hawk at one point says to Pedro “Please dont look at me like that” Im sorry the entire world wants those puppy dog eyes to look at them like that. It was more than mesmerising. & his eyes were so big in that moment. If thats not acting i dont know what it.

It was far too short. Way way to short 32mins flew by. & as much as im not asking for a full 2h5min film, even an extra 10 mins or to put it up to an hour would have so so worked & would have been so good to watch. & i know what he could have done becasue i have questiosn that i want answering. I need the know the followning.
Who is the mum to his son?
What else happened on that trip?
Why did it take 25 years to see each other again? & what happened in the 25 years to them both?
Why did Jake go nope im leaving this life behind?
& also what happens at the end? Did that person get away (this was answered in the Q&A).

Its hard to say much more without spoiling it if im honest.

The Q&A afterwards was very interesting. Im not sure about the part of the cinema bellow me but 2 groups left as the Q&A started & some left throughout it. I mean i stayed, i like to knowwhy people made films a certain way so it intrigued me a lot, but it was more an interview than a Q&A & as much as i did learn a lot the Q&A was twice as long as the film. I was looking at my watch at one point going ahhhh my parking runs out in 8mins.

This is a cult viewing experiance, i get that & i am fully aware that me & my girls are apart of the problem but damn, if thats what i get for havign a problem with Pedro Pascal… sign me up to more of it. Beacause 32 minutes was far too short & i need to know what else Jake & Silva get up to.

A must watch for any fellow Pedro peoples.

& not just for the Peach… for the Puppy dog eyes too.
