Time to leave festive & kids films for just a brief minute & go & see Widows. First as a trailer back in June when Oceans 8 came out & since then it’s been advertised a lot. So BRING IT ON PEOPLES I say.
Screen 6 I’d say was half full which wasn’t bad for a Wednesday meerkat treat for everyone else. There were a few other bits ago tho at 5:20 at the cinema so out side was super busy.
Trailers were getting near the a s words awards seasons. We had Stan & Olly which I can’t wait to see we had Mary Poppins as she covers everything we had the favourite we had creed 2 & there was one more for something I can’t remember it was a bit horror esk tho. Not my cuppa tea although I’ve seen some horror this year it’s growing on me like one of those evil monsters.
& then the film started & I don’t really want to say another word, as this is something you need to go & see to understand. If you are over the age of 15 & know you can cope with this kind of film, give it a fucking go.
First of all everyone on the cast was on point on form on fire just bringing life to the movie. The fact the Daniel Kaluuya name is so far down this list yet every scene he is in you can’t but not look at him, that says a lot. No one even gives a half heartened performance. It’s all so strong & judged well & a fantastic tones that means everything else falls into place.
& the story oh fuck yes. I love me a heist film you know that , it’s a well established fact now, but this was so much more than a heist film.
Everything was properly linked & cleverly slotted together & just when you thought oh okay, bang twist or bang someone dead or bang sad moment. It was going like tumbled weed down a street not in a bad way, it just collected movement & took off(maybe a snow ball is a better metaphor).
All but 2 questions I had were answered but those 2 I didn’t ask myself until after I got home, so couldn’t have been that pressing.
I’m going to stop typing so you can go & watch this film people. It’s so completely worth all of your time & you will come out going oh fuck me that was bloody marvellous. I need to talk about this more but you need to see it first. Anything else I type may give proper plot info away.
