Right time to go Across the Spider Verse once again. I am really looking forward to this. Its not for kids these film im certain of it & im hoping this one will prove my point entirely. This is going to be a lot of fun.

So i didnt go opening day & had this muted for the wednesday & theres still a lot of people in my cinema on this wednesday. Im very happy. 2 familys but mainly adults like me, also those with families at least one teenager with them so they are almost the target audience.

Trailers, Song bird & snakes, mission impossible, Barbie & Elementals. I mean that should be the right trailers for this film. Stuff for the millennial & the pre teens (weird how thats a cross over at the moment but it is & it works).

& then the film started…ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!! ITS SO GOOD… its stupidly good… god damn it!

The way that each spiderverse had its own unique animated style & feel to it & a different score. I just fell in love with it more & more. The way that Gwen’s was dark & blurry to start with but ended up clear & colourful like the life she wasnt to live. It was so good & i loved it.

I love that we met new spidermen & then some of our faves for the last film come back too. I loved that, They are going to be so important in beyond. Theres a clear path were about to follow & if ive got it right in my head then ahhhhhhhhhh.

I love visiting all the different places & origins of the spiders too. & at no point was it too much exposition or repeating itself. Thats the point to get to know them all as your Spiderman & its super cool. Especially Daniels, weve not been to his world yet, but damn hes going to be so good when we get there.

The surprises along the way, of other spidermen & people & things we see. One did make me & the people sitting 3 seats along from me all collectively gasp as well assumed something, but its now been confirmed, which make the nerd inside me so very very happy. Lots of fan service given for sure, they knew what we wanted & we got it.

This whole film is act 2. It is very much so. As much as there is an act 1, 2 & 3 in this film, it is entirely act 2 & i love it. Because we learnt so much & did so much & went on an amazing adventure, but thats what you should do for act 2 & it just works & you just go yes please let me come with you.

When it talked cannon events for Spiderman to go through, i lost my film nerd mind. I was like omg this is literally what i do, talk lore & cannon & your explaining it in this film for those that dont get it… yes! Ahhhh that was real service for us. I completely lost my mind at that.

This is not a kids film. Its for our inner child but what they talk about & what happens this isnt a kids film, its for us. Maybe if you kids 12 they will enjoy it but no this is for us. It just happens to be animated. If you have a 6 year old dont take them to see this please.

When they hang upside down under the building, beautiful, i love it. Its almost perfect. Its not like Myles rising in the first film which is where he falls, but its up there, to just stop your life for a second & look at the wider world.

Its fucking spectacular, & beautiful & made me laugh & sigh & feel on the edge of my seat & i cant recommend this enough. This is a golden buzzer contender for film of the year for sure. If this isnt in my top films of the year by the time we get to it, i will be very surprised because that means weve had a lots of exceptional films.

It knows what it is & it never takes itself or you the audience for granted during its run time. Please go & see Across the Spiderverse (which ever version you have).
