Happy Spooky Season my Peoples… Hehe Balloon month is a go & im going to try & do one horror or thriller a week between now & my birthday. So tonight it had to be this film to start it all. Without this film i wouldn’t be brave enough to sit behind my scarf watching horror films to this day. Yes its time for get out

Now i hear you all chatting… shes done this before… yes i have… when it was on sky cinema & i was collecting all the best picture nominees for that year you can find that initial review here . but for now lets take a fresh look at it & i will try not to repeat myself altho i probably will.

The best part of the entire film is the search for the keys which since i first watched this film, they actually didnt know how to keep him in the house while they trapped him & then someone couldnt find their keys & they went ahhh thats it. Everyone at some point at least once a year goes ahhh shit where are my keys & has a massive freak out that they cant find them. Its something you can all relate to. & then because you know the stakes are high & you know shes a bitch but not a complete bitch at this point, its amazing & then just the way she hunts for them & then the smug look with the line ” you know i cant give you the keys babe…” Brilliant. The score & everyones acting. Phenomenal. It deserved to be oscar nominated for that one scene only, forget the rest of it.

So when i first watched it my mum had no intentions of watching it with me & really enjoyed it by the end of it. So when i saw it on saturday i just sent here a picture of a tea cup & she went ahhhh whats his friends name. ITS ROD FROM TS FUCKING A! Legend. I mean that dog is cute but everything he does as the bestie thats not involved but is involved is brilliant. We all need a best friend like that. Good man. Consider the situation sorted. That dog is cute too.

I know its racist, thats the point, but it was quite nice that the guy who wanted his body didnt care which race he was, he just wanted his vision & eyes & art. He actually wanted to be Chris, not just a black person. I mean the whole selling him is still horrendous, & everyone there is so morally wrong, but i bet if you told that guy he could have Banksy eyes, hed bid for them too. Does that make sense. Im going to reiterate… I dont want anyone being old as slaves or as vessels to anyone that is so wrong, but at least he went to the person who saw him for who he was (even tho he was blind).

I mean i know the family is weird & we hate them all & they can all fuck off but the moment shes the most psycho is when she is eating her cherrios in a bowl dry & has a glass of milk next to her… WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yea no love RED FLAG!!!! Avoid

The score is amazing really gives you Goosebumps, its so clever & is really edge of the seat intense stuff. I have seen this film multiple times since first saw it, & every time im on edge waiting for shit to go down. I always forget about that bloody deer at the start though,,, nah that always makes me jump miles out of my chair going shit.

The visuals are stunning, but falling into the sunken place…. ooooooooh thats top tier. Thats fucking cinema. For a low budget film to pull that off & to nail it & make it so iconic. Like i saw something the next day on tv ahhh i was watching titanic & the captain had a cup & sourcer & he tapped his spoon & i sat backwards & went well that explains a lot doesnt it… hypnosis/.

Theres also another moral about walking home on your own too. the second his phone is off he gets taken (also shout out to the nope nah nah not tonight in that bit of the film too hehe) Weve had a lot of films about the girl code & walking home alone this year in 2022, so it was nice to see it also happen to a man… not that it should ever happen to anyone, its horrendous having that feeling.

When he yells get out after the phone flash is scary but brilliant, to go from one demeanour to another of pure desperations & just he trickle of blood, its brilliant. Its so stylish & scary. Its amazing.

& i am going to stop there as otherwise i feel i will be repeating myself. Although i think i have already.

Go put Get Out on peoples for spooky season. I know this probably wont be posted til April in 2023 but still just go put it on now & have an epic time on the edge of your seat getting all the Goosebumps possible… Peele made a modern masterpiece & turned me into a horror girl.
