happy Christmas dad

So dad didn’t go to see this in the cinema it was out while he & mama were cruising around Russia etc. So it made perfect sense to buy him this & the previous Star Trek on Blu ray for Christmas so he had the complete set as one day I will move out, especially as my sister around the time of Christmas did.

So the enterprise must be one of the most unluckiest space ships in the history of film. This time it properly gets blown up & crashes. Not many people get out of it without dieing or being captured. But oh man that ship falls apart & properly takes a hit.

The way they deal with Leonard Neimois death is really good & very moving just the fact that it’s new Spock that has that & it’s just him alone in a hanger.

I also love the fact that checkov was given such a large part in this film anyhow, before the untimely tragic death of Anton last year. He was steeling the show for a good part of the film. I do love the fact the JJ has announced he will not be replaced & that he’s just left star fleet.

Idris is the man he spent the whole of 2016 in cgi & make up steeling the show there are going to be lots of people scared of him for many years. Maybe it’s not a good idea that he’s basically being given the role of Bond after an interview yesterday you don’t want the next generation not buying into him if they are scared of him. He was still good & his ideas were good & should have worked in theory. Shame really he could have done with winning.

Don’t know how eating people powers him tho wtf is all that about. He’s human he’s got no super powers? Right ?

Beastie boys is classical music yes that’s brilliant it will be one day though that’s the thing.

Bones has some of the best one liners in this film which makes me think I would be him if I was in this world. I relate to him so much.

Those little monsters at the start who they tried to give the relic to were one a big shock when they ended up being so small & too so cute when they all attacked.

The hologram game with the bikes that was pretty cool & must have been so fun to film. Must have taken weeks just to do that 5min scene.

Now I knew they were going to catch them back up but when I first saw the film & watched them try to restart the new ship I was panicked that they were all actually going to die. & so we’re the rest of my family when they saw it for the first time.

I like the fact they included those retro photos from the original Star Trek was cool, & then that they all got to say the closing line with Zoe finishing off. A first for cinema.

It’s a solid third film of the series & if that was the end it went out with good jokes & fights & family bonding. I just wish we had about another 20mins before we got to that final show down. That being said I’d still go & watch number 4.
