Its another bank holiday weekend, yea another one, so lets start it off like we did the last one with a trip to the cinema shall we. The rest of the world today are all going ooooh Downton Abby new movies lets go see that. As for me, well its time to watch this again, as so many of you said i missed so many easter eggs first time round although if im honest i wasnt looking for them. (i was concentrating on the film i promise & not just Pedro, this time i intend to just watch the film too & not Just Mr Pascal… what dont give me that look.)
Id say about 20 maybe 30 people in my screening. Lots of people my age or younger & a couple of older couples (but not old old they were all at Downton instead) but thats still good.
Trailers Firestarter (yes) Doctor Strange (yes all pre-booked & ready to go on opening day) Top Gun (yes), the new Emma Thompson film (yes finally might treat my sister to that) & everything everywhere (yes finally a release date for that woohoo).
Oh your expecting it to say film started right here… well nah we had a little intro from Pedro & then his wine Advert before i started. In future all films (not just his) need to be introduced by Pedro Pascal & Wine. Anyone who doesnt think thats the perfect combination is just wrong.
& then the film started… i left the cinema laughing smiling & feeling very happy with life. The exact perfect way to start a bank holiday weekend. Happy bloody days.
It is so much more fun second time around, oh my good. I think because i knew the joke was coming that i was already smiling like ahhh thats gonna be next & then it was & i laughed more. I was worried my audience wouldnt laugh at said moments about Paddington 2 & th first time its referenced the guys in the row in front of me were it bits & went omg that so true. Well done peoples you passed.
There are so many little things mentioned earlier in the film which for the third act (which i completely forgot they basically introduce as the third act) they all come up again or are mentioned or useful. Okay yes the third act is still predictable & unrealistic & over the top but still.
There are so many items in that room, trying to get them all is so hard, that is going to be a pause it on dvd & write them all down moment it really is. I mean that wax work is madness, but my favourite bit is theres a pillow which is looked at & then its the way its then just moved on from & Javi is like nah i cant leave it like that it needs to go back. I didnt notice that first time round, it just happens in the background while your watching other stuff. Im still angry i cant win that pillow darn it for not being an ameircan resident. I think i got most of the spoken references so the 5 of you who were like you missed stuff ive got it now peoples.
DO NOT GO TO THAT VANITY FAIR INTERVIEW!!!!!! But at the same time THANK YOU FOR GOING TO THAT VANITY FAIR INTERVIEW!!!!! States of Mind have never been thought of so much.
Theres a line where Cage is busy saying its Stunt stuff & he says not according to the DVD extras… i laughed a bit to much at that i really really did. That Bromance is just lush it really is. I am sure there are points where Pedro is just like hang the fuck on thats Nicholas Cage… There are definitely some moments where he breaks out of character & he just looks at him & you think yea your not acting mate
Imaginary Cage is still irritating, i thought i would warm to him this time but no. I mean he is more useful than he was when i first watched it. The bar scene is crazy.
The “trip” is still so much fun it really is, absolute divine intervention.
Lets give the guests a really nice Mediterranean tapas breakfast, while you go to do business & eat fruit loops… hehe that would so be what a master villain would do. Brilliant.
Is it bad to have a goal in life of sitting in a pool, drinking wine, chatting crap with Pedro Pascal? I mean that if it was possible it would be on my Bingo Card. What an evening that would be. He doesnt need the curly hair either, standard Pedro will do, it does have to be Javi. I mean i have sat in a swimming pool having a cocktail before, but you know.
See i did watch it for other stuff, not just a Pedro Fix.
Was there an Oscar Isaac easter egg in it? or was i just over thinking that?
Pig is still the best Cage film ive seen by a country mile. But this is just a blast & i left so happy & in such a good place. It was exactly what i needed for my friday night… Go see it if your cinema is still showing it peoples, you will just leave feeling full & happy & with the biggest smile.
& then i got home made dinner & had an emotional breakdown watching Paddington 2… Its incredible.
